Look For The 2012 Subaru Impreza, Arriving This Month

The well-loved Subaru Impreza recently received a suite of upgrades, and Southern Oregon Subaru Volvo Mitsubishi can't wait to share them with you. That's right, the roomier, more fuel-efficient Subaru Impreza will be rolling into our showroom at 3103 Biddle Road Medford, OR, 97504 any day now.
One of the changes drivers will notice this year is that Subaru managed to make more room on the inside of the car without engineering a larger car. The automaker increased the wheel base by an inch but shortened the body overhang, opening up over two cubic feet of interior space. That might not seem like much, but the 2012 Impreza can hold four sets of golf clubs (compared to three in the old model), or a mountain bike with its front wheel still attached. Pretty impressive for a car in the compact segment, right?
Another impressive change this year is the 30-percent increase in fuel efficiency. The 2012 Impreza is reportedly rated at 27 mpg city/36 mpg highway, which would make it the most fuel-efficient gasoline-powered all-wheel-drive passenger car in the United States. This is thanks in part to its continuously variable transmission (CVT), and the new, 2-liter, boxer-style engine that gives the Impreza a 10 percent boost in fuel-efficiency.
The 2-liter engine replaces the 2.5-liter engine, and provides an output of 148-hp. For all of you manual-transmission enthusiasts out there, you don't have to sacrifice the manual shifting experience for better fuel-efficiency. The engine can be mated to either a five-speed manual transmission or the above mentioned six-speed CVT. According to Subaru, the new CVT has been tuned differently in the 2012 Impreza, to offer the rise and fall feeling of a manual-transmission, instead of the gradual wind-up to cruising speed offered by the CVT found in the Subaru Outback.
As always, the base model Impreza comes with standard AWD, and an MSRP of $17,495. Other trims include the Premium, Sport Premium, Limited and Sport Limited levels. The Premium trim offers iPod connectivity, Bluetooth integration, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The Limited trim offers an upgrade to 17-inch wheels, fog lights, and a cold-weather package as well as a 4.3-inch audio display. Both the Premium and Limited models have an available touch screen display with navigation system. And, the top of the line Sport Limited five-door hatchback tops out around $22,095.
You can see all of the options available on the 2012 Subaru Impreza at Southern Oregon Volvo Mitsubishi, when it arrives later this month.
